Purpose and Recommended Action

This is a request for City Council to recommend approval to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control of three special event liquor licenses for the 100 Club of Arizona, submitted by Steve Horrell.  These events will be held at Westgate’s Waterdance Plaza located at 6770 North Sunrise Boulevard. The purpose of these special event liquor licenses is for fundraising at the Cardinals football game tailgate events on Sunday, October 23 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, November 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Background Summary

 

Westgate zoned PAD (Planned Area Development) and located in the Yucca District.  If these applications are approved, the total number of special event liquor licenses issued at this location will be seven of the allowed 12 per calendar year.  Under the provisions of A.R.S. § 4-203.02, the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control may issue a special event liquor license only if the Council recommends approval of such license.

 

The City of Glendale Development Services, Police, and Fire Departments have reviewed these applications and determined that they meet all technical requirements.
