Purpose and Recommended Action
Recommendation
This is a request for City Council to recommend approval to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control of a special event liquor license for Desert Stages, submitted by Laurie J. Cullity. The event will be held at the Westgate Entertainment District located at 6770 North Sunrise Boulevard on Thursday, March 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The purpose of this special event liquor license is for fundraising at the Phoenix BikeFest.

The Westgate Entertainment District is zoned PAD (Planned Area Development) and located in the Yucca District. If this application is approved, the total number of days expended by this applicant will be three of the allowed 12 days per calendar year. Under the provisions of A.R.S. ยง 4-203.02, the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control may issue a special event liquor license only if the Council recommends approval of such license.
The City of Glendale Development Services, Police, and Fire Departments have reviewed the application and determined that it meets all technical requirements.
